To Yaki Or Not To Yaki?

Now, what is yaki? What does this word mean?

We have had a lot of our customers come to us telling us that yaki means plastic. THIS IS FALSE! There seems to be much confusion over this term, so we will try our best to define what the word means for you.

Have you ever put in a very silky straight hair extension and thought that it doesn't match your hair perfectly? If so, you may want to try yaki next time you purchase your hair extensions.

Most of the 100% human hair extensions consumers buy tends to be hair from people of Indian, Chinese, Malaysian, Hawaiian, Brazillian descent, etc. The natural texture to these types of hair tends to be smoother/straighter than that of many of our consumers who are of African descent, who have a natural kink to their hair. In order to make the hair extensions blend more naturally into the hair of people of African descent, the hair extensions are processed so that there will be more texture to the strands of hair. The result? Natural looking, fuller, longer hair for people with naturally coarser hair!

What is Remy Hair?

Here's our terminology of the day: REMY

What IS remy anyways?

When you buy hair that is remy, whether it is virgin remy or remy yaki or some other type of curl, you will get hair where the cuticles all face the same direction.

Each strand of hair is covered by thousands and thousands of little overlapping scales, called the cuticle. Imagine fish scales. The cuticle is what provides protection to the hair.

Hair with a healthy cuticle will have scales that lay mostly flat against the strand of hair.  An damaged cuticle will have raised scales and will let in more water and chemicals, etc.

The advantage to buying remy hair extensions is that it will tangle less than hair that is non-remy. Because the scales of the cuticle are all facing the same direction, they will not hook onto one another as much and tangle less.

Style Week Jamaica is May 25-27, 2012

With Style Week about to hit the Kingston scene in a fierce way from May 25-27, 2012, Royalty Luxury Hair Products knows that all of our local Jamaican girls will show our international guests and media that we know fashion.

So break out your best Outfits, get your Hair, Nails, and Makeup done!

Here's a little tip from the makeup experts on how to make your skin look like a million bucks:

Our favorite product is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder. It is a soft powder with a high-metallic finish. Use a powder brush or blush brush to highlight above your cheekbones, the tip of your nose, and your brow bones. Your face will look radiant and glowing. Other spots to give a hit of powder are your shoulders and collarbone.

EVEN BETTER! Brush some of this miracle powder onto your cleavage to give your girls even more UMPH!
